Daisyworld
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
In Daisyworld, you assume the role of an intergalactic gardener—breeding, harvesting and selling exotic flowers on a remote planet. On each level, use your beloved drone to fill customer orders as quickly as possible. Players of time management games like Delicious Emily or Diner Dash will enjoy the gameplay.
Daisyworld is really a game about climate change. During the game, you learn that your gardening activities produce a substance (analogous to carbon) that threatens the planet by raising its temperature. You must then reduce and remove emissionsthem from the atmosphere, while keeping the business afloat. The game has 12 levels and a rough play time of between 1 and 2 hours.
Who made this?
Daisyworld was created by James Coleman as a Master's Project at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. It was originally designed as a novel way to teach middle and high school students about climate change and negative emissions technology.
